Community Level Governance (closed)

  1. Have your say  On Community Level Governance

The consultation on the review of Community Level Governance or in other words Local Area Committees is now closed. It was running from January to April 2018.

Renfrewshire Council consulted with local residents on the local governance proposals which were  developed trough initial engagement around the review of Local Area Committees (LAC’s), and seeked views on whether (a) people agree with the direction of these proposals and (b) how we should put these proposals into action. If you would like to have a look at the proposals, you can access or download Community Level Governance Consultation Paper (PDF)

We have now looked at all the responses to the consultation that took place between January and April 2018 and produced a report to summarise what people said to us.  This report (please see link: http://bit.do/egzCB) was presented to Renfrewshire Council on 3 May 2018 and the recommendations agreed.  The report will also be included for invitation with the papers for the next round of Local Area Committees in May and June 2018.

The next step will be to amend the proposals in the consultation paper and submit a final set of proposals for approval by Renfrewshire Council on 28 June.  After this, we will look to implement the changes later this year.  This will still require a lot of discussion with communities in order to finalise the details and we look forward to working together on this.

We would like to thank participants for their interest in the Review and their views, which are helping to shape the new arrangements.
