Renfrewshire’s Local Green Network
In Renfrewshire, the Local Green Network is improving our environment by enhancing open spaces, natural features, our built environmnet and the biodiversity of the area.
Green Network projects are bringing the Council, local community groups, schools, interest groups and landowners together to improve areas where people can walk, cycle, keep fit and spend their leisure time.
The wide range of local projects includes:
- Improvements to footpaths at Gleniffer Braes so that more people can enjoy this beautiful natural resource.
- Working with the local community council to develop Sutherland Street allotments in Paisley’s west end, providing a space where people can grow their own fresh, healthy food.
- Development of the Semple Trail at Lochwinnoch where access is being improved to the many interesting features in the area; historic buildings and landmarks are being conserved; and biodiversity is being supported in the area’s valuable wetland habitat.
